Are You Having Fun Yet!

August 20, 2019 by compassioncare

Are you all enjoying your time as a Disciple of Christ?

Christians should live life heartily, knowing our Father is very pleased with us. (Without restraint, with vigor, exuberant) This kind of enjoyment of freedom in Christ should not be kept under a basket until Sunday morning. Matthew 6:33 – But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

This is the way we should engage life –knowing God is for us in every way because we have placed our trust in Jesus. Colossians 3:23 whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Do you waste the week away, waiting for the long-anticipated, but short-lived weekend? TGIF?
We should live more zealously and more motivated in life because we are on GOD’s mission. For us it is not primarily about work or play, but about bringing glory to God. Bringing Glory to GOD should be fun and fulfilling. 1st Corinthians 10:31 31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

What keeps us from having fun?
Fear – Tied to fear can be guilt, shame, a weak conscience, and insecurity. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Participation – are you always observing, but never participate, never enjoying the fullness that the LORD provides. Hebrews 13:16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Worry – brought on by bitterness, un-forgiveness, discontentment to describe the things that will kill your understanding of and participation in fun activities. Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

“Thy Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”.
